Is The Tuff Torq K58 A Serviceable Transmission
- #one
I was at the dealer today shopping the Deere X380/390 against the 2021 Cub Cadet GX54D. I know that the K58 transmission on the X380 is not "easily" serviceable but in the X390 you lot get the drain cap, large cylindrical filter and a reservoir that yous tin use to fill up from the top of the transmission. When I was looking at the transmission in the GX54D, which is listed every bit a K62AF, there is the same type of drain cap on the bottom of the instance. There is also a fluid reservoir on the pinnacle of the transmission. When I conferred with one of the service advisors they could not detect a large cylindrical filter that goes behind the drain cap bleed cap on the GX54D like establish in the X390 transaxle.
I am wondering whether or not this transmission (the K62AF) tin can actually accept the filter that is used in the K58 every bit found in the X390? Fifty-fifty if it does non, I would think that having the reservoir and the drain cap would accept to make servicing this specific transmission easier. I have posted some pics of what I found underneath the GX54D.

I may take found the answer to my question. Upon looking at the schematics of each transmission it would appear as if the filter mates to a accuse pump that is absent-minded from the K62AF but institute in the K58. Tuff Torq lists the K62 every bit having the option of a charge pump merely I doubt that Cub Cadet would take opted for this characteristic when they are already opting for steel cut gears and differential lock.
